Last week we had the opportunity to celebrate our 3rd Annual The People’s Party! The celebration was an opportunity to come together as community and celebrate all the work that we have been doing around economic, immigrant and climate justice. We had a record turnout and we could not have done it without all your continuous support!
We were able to enjoy some delicious Tacos from Taqueria El Buen Pastor, BBQ from Turnin BBQ, vegan wraps from WongWayVeg, and we even brought back the famous paletas from Paleteria Chihuahua. All in all we had a very successful night full of food, laughter and dancing.
This year, COPA awarded The People’s Award to the Denver6 for their resilient work standing up for immigrant rights during their sit in at Michael Bennet’s office this last February. Their actions, led by directly impacted folks, led to him to vote against a budget agreement that would compromise a clean DREAM Act. We are grateful for their amazing work!

¡Nuestra Tercera Anual La Fiesta del Pueblo!
La semana pasada, tuvimos nuestra tercera annual Fiesta del Pueblo y fue un evento muy exitoso. La celebración nos dio la oportunidad de convivir entre comunidad y celebrar todos los logros que hemos logrado como organización este año pasado alrededor de los temas de justicia económica, climática y de inmigrante.Tuvimos una participación récord y no podríamos haberlo hecho sin todo su apoyo.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de comer de mucha comida deliciosa. Tacos de la taqueria El Buen Pastor, barbacoa de Turnin BBQ, comida vegana de WongWayVeg y este año volvimos las paletas de la Paletería Chihuahua. En conjunto, tuvimos una noche muy exitosa llena de comida, risas y baile.
Este año COPA le dio el Premio del Pueblo a los Denver6 por su trabajo resistente en apoyar los derechos de los inmigrantes durante su sesión en la oficina de Michael Bennet este febrero pasado. Sus acciones, dirigidas por personas directamente impactadas, lo llevó a votar en contra de un acuerdo presupuestario que permitiría una ley de Sueño no limpia. ¡Estamos agradecidos por su increíble trabajo!
¡Gracias a todos los que asistieron, se ofrecieron como voluntarios y donaron para que nuestra Fiesta del Pueblo Annual sea una noche inolvidable! ¡La lucha sigue!
